I felt destined to become a counselor.
I once learned that my name, Roberta, means “Bright Counselor of Excellent Worth,” and that meaning has guided me throughout my life. Over time, my personal experiences and professional journey have come together with purpose, preparing me for the sacred work I do today.
I named my practice Healthwaves because life mirrors the ocean—fluid, beautiful, and sometimes turbulent. My passion lies in the healing of relationships—whether it’s between romantic partners, within families, or in our own relationship with grief. As a Gottman-trained couples' counselor, I help partners rebuild connection, communication, and trust using research-based tools that truly make a difference. As a family estrangement coach, informed by the work of Dr. Joshua Coleman, I support clients through the complex terrain of broken family bonds—whether they’re seeking reconciliation, acceptance, or peace. And as a Certified Grief Educator through David Kessler’s program, I companion individuals and families as they process loss and find meaning after heartache.
It’s an honor to walk beside people through seasons of uncertainty, growth, and transformation. I bring a wealth of experience and a full toolbox of evidence-based interventions, working with all ages and backgrounds. If you’re feeling stuck, hurt, or alone, know that you don’t have to carry it all by yourself. You’re worth the support, and so are the relationships that shape your world.
